Hangman's Hymn

Sigh - Hangmans Hymn

This came in a week or so ago but I hadn't had a chance to post it. Here's the packaging for Sigh's "Hangman's Hymn" record out on The End. The inside collage was a nice change as I tend to usually work in muted tones and generally dark images for packaging projects. This is in stores now, check it out if you are into heavy metal. A few posts down I put up the process for making the cover, as well as some goofy shots I took to (eventually) swap in for some joke covers.

Bloodhorse EP

bloodhorse digipak

Just got in copies of our new record and we're all super excited with the result. Everything is printed on uncoated stock and has a real cool texture to it despite only being 4 flat colors. The art for this was inspired by both the wallpaper found in old 70's horror movies (specifically "Psychomania") as well as the graphic identity of the 1968 Mexico Olympics. I think this turned out pretty cool.

I also finished the Bloodhorse website. It's been quite some time since I've tackled anything having to do with the web, but it was nice to change things up a bit.

Rejected Stuff #1

rejected tweedy logo
rejected tweedy cover

Came across these while digging through some old files. This is the original logo proposed for the Andrew Tweedy record. After some discussion we decided this had too much of a western/country or old railroad feel to it, and went with the more simple logo and cover you can see here. I still think this is decent, so I figured I'd share.

If you haven't checked out this record yet, it's well worth it. I have it for sale on my site. Click here to purchase.

The Goddamn Bloodhorse

may 19th show flyer

For anyone in the NYC area this weekend, Bloodhorse will be playing a free show in Brooklyn with one of my closest friends J. (a.k.a. The Goddamn Rattlesnake). The show starts at 9:00pm, and is FREE at Lost and Found (Corner of Greenpoint and Franklin). It's already shaping up to be a rager, so come join the fun.

Also, if you haven't heard The Goddamn Rattlesnake, check the link below and pick up their new record. It's exceptional.

In other Bloodhorse news, we have an record that will be in stores July 24th thanks to the guys at Translation Loss Records. It's called "EP" even though it's almost 40 minutes long. Go figure. Here's the poster.
